IDLY with millet zone

'SIRI DHANYA' MILLET

​

 

INGREDIENTS:

​

  • 1 cup of Blackgram split and de-husked

  • 1 ¾ th cups Kodo Millet Coarse powder (Made with Few seconds in grinder)

  • ¼ cup of Previously cooked Kodo Millet ‘Rice’

  • ½ cup of IDLY coarse powder (Rawwa)

 

METHOD: 

​

  • 1 st, 2 nd and 4 th items to be soaked in water in separate vessels for 8 hrs.

  • Grind 1 st item in a grinder/Mixie into fine paste and add 2 nd item and further grind it.

  • Add 3 rd item and grind more. Collect in to a vessel.

  • Add soaked Idly Coarse powder/Rawwa to this paste and mix.

  • Add salt as per need.

  • Ferment this paste for 8-10 hrs. 

  • Now IDLY mix is Ready.

  • Make your Idly and serve with chutney.

NOTE: This Idly can be made with Foxtail millet too.

IDLY with KODO MILLET 

IDLY with BARNYARD MILLET

INGREDIENTS:

​

  • 1 cup of Blackgram split and de-husked

  • 1 ¾ th cups Barnyard Millet Coarse powder (Made with Few seconds in grinder)

  • ¼ cup of Previously cooked Barnyard Millet ‘Rice’

  • ½ cup of IDLY coarse powder (Rawwa)

METHOD : Same as above (Idly with Kodo Millet)
